On a cold, snowy Minnesota day Bill and I went to the Park Nicollet Clinic in Minneapolis and had an ultra sound. We were both amazed by the little person growing inside of my belly. We saw her profile, face, foot, and spine. The technician said, "Do you want to know the gender?" The baby was sitting with her legs wide open. Bill and I eagerly said, "Yes, ABSOLUTELY!" The technician indicated "it is a girl." Bill and I were both elated to know the gender of our baby.

Bill painted the bedroom a beautiful shade of purple. I am usually the painter and it was really hard not to be able to participate in the work. Bill ended up taking a day off work to do this. We decided to go with a butterfly theme. He installed light switch covers and ordered wall decals. I worked on the changing table that my father made for me in college. The original purpose of it was to be an island in the kitchen of an apartment I rented in Menomonie. I love being able to reuse furniture that had a previous purpose. Now we have a changing table under the window and right next to the crib.

Reading nook.
The reading nook is one of my favorite spots of the room. The little rocking chair has been passed down in my family from the Nelson side for three generations. Underneath the purple is brown plaid little rocker. We have a number of books that have been passed from Cindy Kinney and from when I was a teacher. We are very excited about the upcoming arrival of Abigail Kinney.
